We recently finished learning about light and shadows! The students completed several investigations to see for themselves the affect different objects had on light. In the pictures below, we were investigating what we need in order to see. Initially, the students thought they only needed their eyes to see, but through the investigation they learned that light is also necessary! (Pardon our non-uniform clothing in the pictures! It was College Day at school and we were wearing clothing to support our favorite colleges!)
In October we went on a field study to the Clemson Sandhill Research and Education Center. We learned about water conservation and horticulture of locally grown crops through hands-on activities. The students were able step back in time to pump water in a bucket!
